Abstract:: Abstraet: An unexpected compound 1 ,2-bis( ( 4-( 2-bromoethoxy) naphthalen-l-yl) oxy)ethane was synthe.sized by the Schlenk line skill with 1 ,4-naphthoquinone as slarting reactant and its structure was characterizedby 1H NMR and 13C NMR based on its DEPT and HSOC spectra. Then the diimidazolium as a novel precursorof N-heterocyelie carbene was synthesized by the title compound with 1-methylimidazole and characterized byH NMR and ESl-MS , which further confirmed the title compound structure.
