Journal of Zhengzhou University (Engineering Science), adhering to the concept of high standards of publishing ethics, effectively standardizes the publishing behavior, improves the self-discipline of scientific research, prevents academic misconduct, gives full play to the role of scientific journals in the certification of scientific research results, and contributes to the construction of world-class scientific journals. We refer to the China Association for Science and Technology the sci-tech periodical publishing ethics (COPE), publishing ethics committee’s official website (http://www.publicationethics.org/) and the European association for science and edit (EASE) ethical standards, making publishing ethics.
1. Author’s Responsibilities
1) Authors must ensure that the manuscript is an authentic work, free from any academic misconduct such as plagiarism, fabrication of data, multiple submission or duplicate publication, and does not contain confidential information.
2) The content of the submission is scientific, concise and accurate;
3) The submission does not involve state secrets and infringement issues related to intellectual property rights;
4) Authors must ensure that the submission has not been published in any other journal or media in any other language. Manuscripts that have already been published cannot be repeated;
5) Authors ensure that the submission is not allowed to be written, invested or modified by a third party;
6) The cited literatures are all related to the submission, and the cited sources are clearly indicated, and the list is made in the way of reference description;
7) When signing a paper, all authors should make contributions to the research of this paper. False signing is not allowed. Once accepted, it is not allowed to arbitrarily add or subtract authors or adjust the order of authors;
8) The funding information related to the research shall be stated in the manuscript without resorting to fraud;
9) The submission is submitted to the website of Journal of Zhengzhou University (Engineering Science). Once accepted, digital reproduction right, distribution right, compilation right and information network transmission right of the paper will be transferred to the editorial department of Journal of Zhengzhou University (Engineering science).
2. Reviewer’s Responsibilities
1) The reviewer must ensure a fair evaluation of the content of the paper. The reviewer need to check the innovation, science and practicality of the paper; Provide a fair evaluation of whether the research method is appropriate, whether the research design is reasonable, whether the results and conclusions are accurate, and whether there are leaks. Put forward detailed suggestions on the problems existing in the article;;
2) The reviewer shall ensure that the author has identified all sources of the data used in the study and shall immediately inform the editor of any plagiarism or multiple submissions;
3) The reviewer should indicate any published works of relevant literature that have not been cited;
4) The reviewer shall keep the review confidential and shall not circulate, discuss, use or publish the data, views or conclusions of the manuscript;
5) All review comments and information shall be kept confidential and shall not be used for personal purposes;
6) The reviewer should avoid manuscripts with interest relationship.
3. Editor’s Responsibilities
1) The editor shall be responsible for all the editorial aspects of the journal, including continuously promoting the development of the journal and ensuring that the editor’s manuscripts are published with high quality and on time.
2) The editor may accept, reject or require the revision of the manuscript according to the review comments of the reviewers and the review report of the editorial board.;
3) The editor shall ensure that the evaluation of the paper is fair and reasonable. Editors select manuscripts fairly based on their originality, importance, clarity, and compatibility with the purpose and scope of the journal;
4) The Editor shall ensure that the identities of reviewers and other relevant personnel in the editorial board are protected during the blind review process, and that no information regarding the submission of papers is disclosed to others;
5) The editor shall ensure that every article accepted by the Journal is reviewed for intellectual content, regardless of the identity, gender, race, religion and nationality of the author, etc;
6) The editor shall ensure that all commercial needs and exchange of interests which are detrimental to academic ethics are avoided;
4. Sponsor or Publisher Responsibilities
1) Journal of Zhengzhou University (Engineering Science) is sponsored and published by Zhengzhou University. The requirements of sponsor for the journal are obeying the academic publishing ethical standards, publishing high quality and up-to-standard manuscripts and improving communication in the engineering science field.
2) The publishing organization can not intervene in the decision-making power of editors.
5. Academic Misconduct Policy
To prevent academic misconduct, the editorial office uses the Academic Misconduct Literature Checking System (AMLC) developed by CNKI to detect plagiarism during the initial review. The journal only accepts original articles that have not been published in any other journals. The journal strictly prohibits academic misconduct such as multiple submissions, duplicate publication and plagiarism. If any academic misconduct is detected, the manuscript will be rejected. In the meantime, the author’s institution and other relevant journals will be notified. The author’s future manuscripts will not be accepted anymore.
6. Appeals & Feedback
If the author has objections to the review comments or results, he/she may submit a written appeal to the editorial office and send it to the journal’s email address. The author must provide a detailed explanation for each of the review comments. The editorial office will review the appeal promptly and provide feedback to the author. Please note that normally only one appeal is permitted for each manuscript.
If any authors or readers have comments or feedback about the articles published in our journal, or if there are any opinions regarding our review process or publication ethics policy, please feel free to send your comments to our email. The editorial department will address them as soon as possible and provide feedback as appropriate. We welcome the active participation of our readers and authors in overseeing and contributing feedback about our journal, as we strive together to foster a positive academic atmosphere.
7. Conflicts of interest
1) Authors. The authors should promise that there is no content in submitted papers that infringes upon the legitimate rights and interests of others, especially intellectual property rights. Also they should state clearly that no financial and personal relationships with other people or organizations that can inappropriately influence their work. If there is potential conflicts of interest, authors must inform the editorial department with an appropriate statement.
2) Reviewers. The reviewers should withdraw the review process if they cannot provide an assessment or they have conflicts of interest with the authors.
3) Editors. The editors evaluate manuscripts exclusively on the basis of their academic merit and its relevance to the journal’s scope. The editor should recuse himself or herself from editorial decisions if he or she has conflicts of interest or relationships that pose potential conflicts related to articles under consideration.
8. Correction and Retracting
The journal typically does not publish corrections or retractions to published articles. However, should it be necessary, the journal will issue corrections or retractions under the following circumstances:
1) Correction. If a published article is found to contain unintentional scientific errors that do not significantly affect the results and conclusions of the article, the editorial office will publish a correction notice in the journal as soon as possible. This notice will detail the changes made to the original article and indicate the source of the article. The journal shall release a corrected version of the article, clarifying all the modifications made to the original article and indicating the date of update. The earlier version will also be archived and accessible to readers. However, when citing the article, reference must only be made to the latest edition.
2) Retraction. If a published article is found to contain significant scientific errors that render the conclusions and results untrustworthy, it will be retracted by the journal. In addition, if an article is suspected of academic misconduct, such as plagiarism or data fabrication, the editorial office will investigate and issue a statement to readers detailing the risks associated with the article. The results of the investigation will be made public after it is completed. If academic misconduct is proven, the editorial office will retract the article and publish a notice of retraction.
9. Advertising Statement
The journal does not publish commercial advertisements. All articles, as well as our official website and other platforms, are free from advertising. The review and acceptance decisions for manuscripts are not influenced by any commercial factors.
