- Abstract:

The fundamental principles of capacity spectrum method are explained,the implementing procedures of this method are introdueed.and the seismic performance of afive—story steel frame iS evaluated on thebasis of capacity spectrum method.The analysis results indicate that this method can comparatively objectivelyreflect the seismic performance of structure,and it is of immediate convenience.Finally,the dynamic timehistory analysis iS utilized to verify the feasibility of this method,which can form a certain basis for the seismicdesign of steel frames based on the capacity spectrum method.
