SAMPAVE(Stress Absorbing Mixtures Pavement)asphalt mixture is a new stress absorbing mixturefor delaying or restraining reflective cracking.It has the characteristics of anti-cracking,anti—leakage and be—ing adhesive.Based on the varying i method,the paper designs mineral aggregate composition of SAMPAVEasphalt mixture and compares it with China AC-5,the United States standard,KOCH corporation recommendgrading ranges recommended by KOCH eorp oration.The result shows that under the varying i method grading,the optimum asphalt content at upper and lower limit is in the range of±0.3%project grading.whichcan meet the production control demand of stress absorbing layer mixture.And SAMPAVE mixture has excel—lent hiIgh or low temperature resistance,anti-deformation。anti-fatigue and anti-water damage road performance.
