- In order to ensure stable operation and effluent quality of oxidation ditch in municipal sewageplants，it is crucial to simulate its flow pattern．Velocity distribution in the bend channel of oxidation ditch wasinvestigated by establishing two—dimensional mathematical model of current under certain depth．The flow pat—tern in the oxidation ditch was simulated by using FLUENT software．The results showed that the flow patternin the oxidation ditch is greatly influenced by the shape and position of the training wall which set at the curvechannel．The optimal structure and suitable setting way of training wall was put forward by analyzing the calcu·lated results，which can improve the velocity distribution，reduce or avoid the sludge depositing at the bottomof the oxidation，and can reduce energy consumption．The simulation results have very important effect onguiding the engineering design．
