The MSS50-38000 overhead launching gantry is taken as research object. The body ’s strength andstiffness under the maximum amount of pouring condition are analyzed with the software ANSYS,the stress dis-tribution and deflection curves of the overhead launching gantry are obtained. Based on the finite element cal-culations,the 1l high stress points of structure were monitored throughout the pouring process, and the testingresults are consistent with the theoretical calculations. The results of this paper will provide some references forthe design and safe construction of the overhead launching gantry.
