With the fluid-solid coupling method,damage model of the composite laminates under bird impact isbuilt by using the software IS-DYNA; through analyzing the dynamic response of the laminates,four stages ofthe bird impact process are verified,and spreading of the impact wave in the laminates is discussed. The pro-gressive damage process of matrix compression,matrix cracking, and fiber fracture during the bird impact is an-alyzed. The effect of different layer styles on residual energy of the bind after impact is studied,and the resultproves that properly designed layer style can improve the anti-impact capacity of the laminates effectively.
