- Abstract:
- For a construction pit,when ground water is pumped，the ambient ground sinks,and the buildingson it are damaged. The donut-Analysis method is suggested to calculate the surrounding settlement and settle-ment gradient.Then the function between settlement gradient and building loss percentage is put forward. F-nally,a case study is carried out to verify the validity of the suggested algorithm. It is found that with theground water depth increasing,the building loss increases at the same time. How ever, for a particular build-ing，the loss does not always necessarily rise with the increase of water table depth.
