The fractal model of aggregates in Supepave mixture was deduced based on the theory of fractal ge—ometry.By taking SUPERPAVE-19 as an example,the relationship between the fractal dimension(D)and de—sign parameter was stadied by testing volume parameter of mixtures.Base on this,the design parameters ofmixtures were predicted.The results show that aggregate gradation of SUPERPAVE mixture has fractal charac·teristie too,The fractal dimension has good linear correlation with voids in mineral aggregate,voids filled withasphalt,initial compaction degree and asphalt content.The design parameters of SUPERPAVE mixtures withdifferent D can be estimated accordingly.The fraetal characteristics of SUPERPAVE mixtures will make designmethod of asphalt mixtures more objective.
