Alkyl polyglycosides are a new generation of nonionic surfactants, which have good compatibility with other surfactants, low skin irritation, good biodegradability and low toxicity. Since the 80s, the research on the production process of alkyl polyglycosides has been attracting much attention. The main synthesis methods of alkyl polyglycosides are introduced, the post-treatment process is analyzed, and their development trend is prospected, and the research progress of the synthesis of alkyl polyglycosides in the presence of acidic catalysts using starch as the main raw material is highlighted.
