- In this article, according to the type II cracking medium, under the influence of pure shear force field, the different circumstances of the tip of the cracks have the most stress in a certain direction, and the shear stress in a certain direction has the largest two characteristics of the initial expansion (fracture) of the cracks. The article also introduces the test results of the author’s indoor measuring rock fracture toughness and the method of using the cutting test data of 50 % cracks on the field with the shear surface. And discusses how to choose these two types of fracture tough values.
